Garlic is known for its all-round health benefits. Besides being a great addition to your spices cupboard in the kitchen, it's use as holistic first aid is often underminded.

It contains the health-giving active ingredients alliin and allicin, as well as over 100 other compounds including vitamins A, B1, C and E and the minerals selenium, calcium, copper, potassium, zinc and some iron. Therefore it's one of the best anti aging herbs.

Latest research has discovered that an intake of between half and one garlic clove per day can reduce cholesterol by 9 per cent.
