Reduce stress - Dr. Stephen Covey

10% of life is made up of what happens to you.

...90% of life is decided by how you react...

What does this mean?

We really have NO control over 10% of what happens to us. We cannot stop the car from breaking down. The plane will be late arriving, which throws our whole schedule off. A driver may cut us off in the traffic.

The other 90% is different. You determine the other 90%.
How?... By your reaction.

Do not let people fool you. YOU can control how you react.
Let us use an example...

You are having breakfast with your family. Your daughter knocks over a cup of coffee onto your business shirt. You have no control over what has just happened. What happens next will be determined by how you react.

You curse. You harshly scold your daughter for knocking the cup over. She breaks down in tears. After scolding her, you turn to your wife and you criticize her for placing the cup too close to the edge of the table. A short verbal battle follows.

You storm upstairs and change your shirt. Back downstairs, you find your daughter has been too busy crying to finish her breakfast and getting ready to go to school. She misses the bus. Your spouse must leave immediately for work. You rush to the car and drive your daughter to school.

Because you are late, you drive 40 miles per hour in a 30 mph speed limit zone. After a 15-minute delay and throwing $60.00 traffic fine away, you arrive at school. Your daughter runs into the building without saying goodbye.

After arriving at the office 20 minute late, you realize you forgot your briefcase. Your day has started terrible. As it continues, it seems to get worse and worse. You look forward to coming home. When you arrive home, you find a small wedge in your relationship with your wife and daughter.

Why? Because of how you reacted in the morning.

Why did you have a bad day?

A) Did the coffee cause it?
B) Did your daughter cause it?
C) Did the policeman cause it?
D) Did you cause it?

The answer is "D"

You had no control over what happened with the coffee.

How you reacted in those 5 seconds is what caused your bad day.

Here is what could have and should have happened.

Coffee splashes over you. Your daughter is about to cry. You gently say: "It's okay, honey, you just need to be more careful next time." Grabbing a towel you go upstairs and change your shirt. You grab your briefcase, and you come back down in time to look through the window and see your child getting on the bus. She turns and waves. You arrive 5 minutes early a cheerfully greet the staff.

Notice the difference?

Two different scenarios.
Both started the same. Both ended different.

Why? Because of how you reacted.

You really have no control over 10% of what happens in your life.
The other 90% was determined by your reaction.

Take some time...

Problem is just the distance between expected and the reality.

So, either expect less or accept the reality and the problem is solve.
Treat your life as a sea,

Heart as the sea shore and friends as waves.
It never matters how many waves arise in the sea,

Wht matters is how many have touched the seashore.
Have a great day!

Something to learn

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: 'I am blind, please help.' There were only a few
coins in the hat.

A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them
into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some
words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the
new words.

Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the
blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how
things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, 'Were you the one
who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?'

The man said, 'I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a
different way.'
What he had written was: 'Today is a beautiful day and I cannot see it.'

Do you think the first sign and the second sign were saying the same thing?

Of course both signs told people the boy was blind. But the first sign
simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people they were so
lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that the second sign
was more effective?

Moral of the Story: Be thankful for what you have. Be creative. Be
innovative. Think differently and positively.

Hi guyz

Hi guyz...just came back from estates visit for work purpose..its damn tiring..on the way to estate I took this photo...

You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your ATTITUDE towards what happens to you.

And in that, you will be mastering change rather than allowing it to master you

ESSENCE OF BHAGVAD GITA

Whatever has happened, has happened for good.
Whatever is happening, is happening for good.
Whatever is going to happen, it will be for good.

What have you lost for which you cry?
What did you bring with you, which you have lost?
What did you produce, which has destroyed?
You did not bring anything when you were born.
Whatever you have, you have received from Him.
Whatever you will give, you will give to Him.
You came empty handed and you will go the same way.

Whatever is yours today was somebody else's yesterday and will be somebody else's tomorrow.

SO WHY WORRY UNNECESSARILY?

Beautiful day

Everything in life is
temporary.
Darkness of the night or
brightness of the day.
Even sunrise is temporary.
And so is sunset.
If things are going good enjoy it.
It won't last forever
And if things are
going bad
Dont worry coz it won't last
forever either.
Everything just
passes by.
HAVE A NICE DAY!

Opportunities

Opportunities ? Small or Big. They come and go. Some will be easy to take advantage of, some will be difficult. But once we let them pass in hopes of something better, those opportunities may never again be available. Always grab the first opportunity.

Triathlon Relay

Our company recreation club has organised triathlon last week. It was so fun. There are running, cycling and swimming involve in a team. I was the helper. :) This activity will help in intergrating all the staff from various departments.
